SMART goal-setting is a great way to keep on track.  We talk about it in depth, in the book, but SMART, as an acronym stands for:

Specific – make your goals crystal clearMeasurable – make sure you know how to keep track of them (which is important for ROI)Attainable – don’t make them unattainable and out of reachRewarding- as tied with all of the above, make sure they are rewardingTime-based – put a deadline on it.
